AIM OF THE CONFERENCE

European Ageing Network, Metropolitan College and AKMI are inviting you to the European Symposium for the 21st century skills in long-term care from Thursday 26 to Friday 27 September 2024 at Theoxenia Palace Hotel.

The symposium aims to highlight the importance of the right quiver of skills for the elderly care workforce, as well as illustrate their role in the progress of elderly long term care sector. In addition, the symposium will emphasize to issues such as the challenges encountered by both the labour market and the educational sector regarding the attractiveness of the profession of elderly caregiver, the development of the occupation and the importance of the human factor.

We cordially invite you to participate in the symposium, where you will have the opportunity to engage in plenary sessions and parallel session led by esteemed international and Greek speakers. Join us in lively discussions about the future of skills in the field of elderly care and help establish the groundwork for innovative collaborations within the industry.

A Gala Dinner on 26th of September, and a Cultural activity outside Athens on 28th of September are going to complete the symposium activities. These additional events not only facilitate extensive networking but also offer a chance for enjoyment in one of Greece’s most picturesque locations.

THEOXENIA PALACE HOTEL

A legend renewed and revitalized, Theoxenia Palace completely renovated in 2012 is the incomparable star of Kifissia. Located in Kefalari, the most exclusive area of the Northern Suburbs of Athens, this boutique hotel combines discrete luxury with exceptional accommodation and hospitality services to create a unique experience for its guests.

Adonis Ballroom, fully renovated in 2015, is the ideal choice for hosting the plenary sessions of our conference. The parallel sessions are going to take place in other venues of the hotel, where the attendees will have the opportunity to further discuss about the thematic of the conference and discover new aspects of the 21st century skills fo the elderly care workforce.
