Theodore Benetatos, is the Dean of the School of Tourism of the Metropolitan College in Greece and Regional Manager of Southern Greece.
Mr. Benetatos worked for 13 years as CEO and Dean at the International Management Institute, IMI in Lucerne, Switzerland. In his role he was directly responsible for all academic programmes, postgraduate and undergraduate, working with Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, Oxford Brookes University, Sheffield Hallam University, CTH London and the Swiss Confederation. He was directly responsible for various partnerships in more than 10 countries around the world and marketing activities in more than 35. Under his leadership, IMI achieved its best ranking of 11th place in the QS World Ranking of Hospitality Schools. He has also served for 3 years as a member of board for EURHODIP.
He has studied at the Technological Educational Institute of Patras in Greece, the University of Birmingham, UK, the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (ALBA) in Greece, the Hellenic Open University and PH Zurich University in Switzerland.
Jean-Marc Blanc is the director of I2ML (Mediterranean Institute of Longevity Professions / Institut méditerranéen des métiers de la longévité), a university department at the University of Nimes in the south of France. Before that, he was a nurse and then Director of a nursing home.
I2ML operates independently within the university. It is a living lab. The skills deployed there include social and environmental psychology, cognitive psychology, and social design. Its universe is that of aging, meaning those we call “the elderly,” the institutions that welcome them, and the professionals who care for or accompany them. I2ML’s vocation is to provide an additional component, that of the human and social sciences, the use and expertise of users, to medical work, major institutional actors, and public policies
Since 2002, Dr. Berthold Broll is a member of the Board of Directors of the Stiftung Liebenau, an international non-profit organisation based in Meckenbeuren, Germany. He studied political, social and administrative sciences at the University of Constance from 1987 to 1991 and worked in the commercial sector from 1991 to 2000, at the same time completing his doctorate in social sciences at the University of Constance.
Pascal Champvert has dedicated his career to improving the lives of the elderly. Since 1987, he has served as the Director of three home services and three establishments for elderly people in Val de Marne. As Vice-President of the Association of Directors in the Service of Elderly People (AD-PA), Champvert works closely with directors of home services, establishments, and coordination efforts, participating in numerous national bodies including the Council of the CNSA and the High Council of the Family, Childhood, and Age. Additionally, he is involved with the European Association of Senior Citizens’ Directors (E.D.E.) and co-founded AVEC, the National Association of Directors and Families of Elderly People, in 2005.
Champvert’s academic background includes a D.E.A. in Economic Sciences, a diploma from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique (E.H.E.S.P.) in the hospital department, and a coaching certification from HEC (Hautes Etudes Commerciales). He is also the author of the book “Taking Care of Our Elders is Already Taking Care of Us,” published by Editions Carnets Nord in 2012.
Born in Athens in 1942. She studied Graphic Arts in Doxiadis School and in Paris. For 20 years, she worked as a graphic designer in magazines and newspapers and illustrated numerous children’s books. Along with three friends she co-created “Rodi” magazine in 1978. Ιn 1987, she founded the Non-governmental Organisation “ELIX”, to manifest her vision and give young people the opportunity to actively participate in society and grow through volunteering. For 35 years, she works on a regular basis in “ELIX” in a never-ending journey of discovery and self-fulfillment. She has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
Theodor Grassos is the Secretary Genaral of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB) and the Director of the International Department of AKMI and Metropolitan College Group of Companies. Mr. Grassos brings extensive experience in business development strategies and innovative approaches to cultivating learning motivation and establishing a network of over 350 active partners across Europe, Asia, and Africa. Mr. Grassos is an expert in European Commission working groups, including the “Working Group on Vocational Education and Training and the Green Transition” and the “Working Group on Adult Learning – Opening Up Opportunities for All.” He is also a member of the Lifelong Learning Platform and the VET4EU2 group.
With over 15 years of experience, Mr. Grassos has a deep understanding of ESF and EU education and vocational training strategies. Mr. Grassos holds an academic degree in Political Sciences and Public Administration, focusing on International and European Studies, and a Master’s degree in EU relations with developing countries. He is registered as an expert with the Greek Managing Authority of the Operational Programme for Education and Initial Vocational Training.

In the Czech Republic is Jiri Horecky representing Czech employers as the president of the Confederation of Employers‘ and Entrepreneurs’‘ Associations. He is also the main representative of the social sector as the president of the Association of Social Services Providers. He is also chairing the Czech Alliance for telemedicine and digitalization of health care and social services.
In 2022 – 2023 he was chairing the world association GLOBAL AGEING NETWORK. He is also representing European social employers and the vice-president of the Federation of European Social Employers.
Věra Husáková is the Operational Director of the network of homes for the elderly in the Czech Republic, a leading non-state provider of residential social services. She focuses on the quality of the services provided, the staff and their development, leadership, innovative approaches and sees opportunities in digitalization and education.
She is Vice-Chair of the section of non-state providers in the Czech Association of Social Service Providers and since 2023 also a member of the EAN board.

Dr. Kalliope Kalaitzi is a leading physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, with a focus on Lifestyle Medicine. She founded and manages The Longevity & Wellbeing Clinic, the first of its kind in Greece. As the scientific director of the Lifestyle Medicine Clinic at Euroclinic Athens and an Academic Fellow at the Medical School of Athens, Dr. Kalaitzi is dedicated to advancing health and wellness.
She graduated from the Medical School of Thessaloniki and completed her specialty training in Germany and Greece. A PhD candidate at EKPA, she specializes in obesity treatment through Lifestyle Medicine and holds a Master’s in International Medicine. Dr. Evagelos Korobilis Magas holds a PhD in International Marketing from Loughborough University, an MSc in Marketing Management with distinction from Aston Business School, and a BSc in Economics from Aristotle University. He currently works as a Business and Innovation Consultant at PRAXI Network, while he is also responsible for the writing and coordination of EU funding proposals. He also serves as an expert evaluator for the European Commission. Previously, he was an Associate Professor at Robert Gordon University and a senior export consultant in Athens, assisting Greek SMEs to expand to new, international markets. His expertise includes export performance, strategic unpredictability, and market research, with recent research interests in environmental sustainability, recycling behavior, and the circular economy, reflected in publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Konstantinos Kouskoukis is a highly accomplished Dermatologist and Lawyer with a distinguished career in both academia and healthcare leadership. As President of the Hellenic Academy of Thermal Medicine and the World Academy of Chinese & Complementary Medicine, he holds numerous prominent positions, including Vice President of the Global Doctors’ Hippocratic Institute and leadership roles in ELITOUR and the International Health Tourism Council. A professor at several universities, he is also a published author, editor, and scientific consultant, with extensive contributions to health tourism, thermal medicine, and complementary therapies.
Renate Kraus, MBA MSC, is a highly experienced healthcare consultant, trainer, coach, and mediator, based in Murstetten, Austria. With nearly three decades of experience, she specializes in strategic consulting for the healthcare sector, focusing on personnel and organizational development, leadership advancement, and team dynamics. Giulia is responsible for managing EU-funded projects at Eurocarers, focusing on the role of informal carers in the provision of Long-Term Care, and integrated person-centred care. Her background is in social policy research, in particular working on gender, socio-economic inequalities, the care economy, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion. She has experience working in a variety of research and policy roles in EU institutions, NGOs, government and research consulting in the EU, UK and India.
Dr. Freek Lapré is a nurse by training, a health scientist, a change management expert and a service quality specialist in elderly care. Freek is a certified management consultant in the broad field of long-term care and services for the elderly international clients in Europe, USA and China. Freek is also involved in executive training programs for management in elderly care and services in Europe and China and was for 10 years a visiting professor in the USA. Currently, he is an Executive Professor at the TIAS Business School of the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands specialised in service quality, business strategy and innovations.
He is coordinator of the MBA Health joint programme of the Maastricht University in the Netherlands and the Nanjing University in China. He serves as Chairman of the European Centre for Research and Education in Ageing Services (ECREAS) the knowledge centre of the European Ageing Network (EAN).
Finally, he is chairman of the supervisory board of a care hotel in the Netherlands.
Konstantina Leventi coordinates EASPD’s advocacy and policy efforts at the EU level and manages EU-funded projects. Drawing on her extensive experience as a social worker supporting people with disabilities, she actively applies this insight to enhance her advocacy efforts across the social services ecosystem. In addition, her expertise lies in quality of social services, independent living of persons with disabilities, employment, long-term care, legal capacity, funding frameworks, and workforce development.
Dan Levitt has tirelessly championed the rights of seniors for 30 years at the local, provincial, national and international levels. Prior to his appointment as BC’s Seniors Advocate, Dan held leadership positions in senior-living and long-term care homes in the Lower Mainland for more than 10 years where he helped shape a dementia-friendly future for seniors and their loved ones.
He is an adjunct professor of gerontology at both Simon Fraser University and a former sessional instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He has also been a surveyor with Accreditation Canada, reviewing quality improvement and person-centred care at long-term care homes and community-based service providers across the country.
Dan earned an undergraduate degree from the UBC and masters degree from the University of North Texas, Center for Studies in Aging. He has served on the board of directors for the Denominational Health Association, the Global Aging Network and the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia. He is inspired by the aging journeys of his grandparents and great-grandparents, and is now supporting his parents, who are living life to the fullest in their mid-80s.
Ilias Livanos is a Cedefop expert and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Warwick. Working at Cedefop Department for VET and skills, Ilias heads two flagship Cedefop projects; the Skills forecast and the European skills index. Ilias is an economist by training, with a master’s degree in industrial relations and a PhD in employment research. Ilias worked in the UK academia for about a decade before joining Cedefop, teaching and conducting research in education, skills, and the labour market. His expertise is in labour economics, education economics, and industrial relations.
Ilias blends quantitative and qualitative techniques and skills while he specialises in using large scale datasets, such as the European labour force survey. Ilias has published articles in various top-ranking journals including Industrial Relations: a Journal of Economy and Society, Regional Studies, Industrial and Economic Democracy, Journal of Economic Studies, Education Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Higher Education, the International Journal of Manpower, Personnel Review, and the Journal of Labour Research.
Dimosthenis Lygouras is a graduate of the Department of Occupational Therapy of TEI of Athens (University of West Attica), holder of two postgraduate programs (MSc “Clinical Ergospirometry, Exercise, Advanced Technology and Rehabilitation”, Department of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and MSc “Immersive Technologies – Innovation in Education, Training and Game Design”, Department of Computer Science, International University of Greece).
Now he is a PhD candidate at the Department of Computer Science, International University of Greece, with a specialization in Immersive Virtual Reality and Rehabilitation after Stroke.
His clinical experience includes children with neurodevelopmental disorders and the rehabilitation of adults with neurological conditions. He has specialized in several intervention seminars (e.g. Sensory Integration).
He is the Program Leader of the Occupational Therapy Department of the Metropolitan College in Larissa and Academic Fellow of the Occupational Therapy Department of the University of Western Macedonia. Finally, he works at the Day Centre for People with Dementia (Association for Regional Development and Mental Health – EPAPSY) in Larissa.
Donald is the Chief Executive of Scottish Care. Scottish Care is the membership organisation of independent providers of residential aged care and care at home/housing support services in Scotland. Prior to his current role, Donald ran an equality and human rights consultancy for fourteen years. In that time, he focused on issues such as workplace and institutional discrimination and the role of human rights in social care. As well as teaching and publishing in human rights and technology, he has a particular interest in human rights-based approaches to social care and support, bereavement, and palliative care. A regular blogger and public speaker he is an active campaigner for older person rights.
Judy commenced her career as a Registered Nurse diversifying over the last 35yrs into training, management and Business Development at executive level. Judy has been employed both clinically and in Executive roles Nationally across Australia and internationally. Her main roles have been in the not- for-profit and for-profit health and seniors living sectors. These roles encompassing clinical oversight, Aged care education, stakeholder engagement, public relations lobbying to Government and National Peak bodies. Her roles have been integral to best practice development in the Aged Care industry and she has successfully developed high profile linkages to key peak industry bodies and CEO’s.
She is well known and respected for her industry advocacy and is recognised by industry globally for her work managing the SAGE international Study tour program for the last 18yrs .
She served as Vice Chair and founding Director of Commonwealth Association of Ageing and immediate past Chair and current Board Director of Global Ageing Network.
Professor Vic Rayner OBE is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Care Forum, joining the organisation in 2016.
As CEO she chairs the government national workforce advisory group. In addition, she chairs the National Social Care Advisory Group on social care and technology and has been at the forefront of promoting digital transformation across care. She sits on a range of government and national specialist groups with a focus on the social care workforce, digital transformation, new models of care and regulation. She has recently stepped down from chairing the working group of the APPG on adult social care.
Vic is a regular national and international speaker and has extensive knowledge and expertise across a wide range of care, support, housing and social policy agendas. Prior to joining the NCF, she was the CEO of Sitra, a leading national membership body championing excellence in housing, health, care and support. Vic is the incoming chair of the Global Ageing Network and has worked extensively with international partners on key areas of innovation and change. In addition, she was awarded an Hon. Professorship in Health Sciences by City University, working closely with the My Home Life programme and the wider University agenda around ageing and care. She was awarded an OBE for services to social care in 2021.
Mr George Panagopoulos has studied physics whereas he also holds a Master degree in Business and Administration. Over the last 11 years he has been acting as technology transfer consultant in Enterprise Europe Network focusing on sectors such as health and ICT and offering business support services across the whole spectrum of innovation. Among others , George Panagopoulos is nominated as National Contact Point in Horizon Europe and Head of Europe Direct Attica – PRAXI Network. Throughout his career he has taken part in multiple National and European Projects especially in the field of International Cooperation.
Salvatore Petronella is a migration governance specialist within the context of the EU external dimension, with a special focus on labor mobility and smuggling of migrants. He leads the Knowledge and Influence Division at Labor Mobility Partnerships (LaMP) targeting mainly OECD economies and engaging with industries and international institutions.
He has previously coordinated the launch of the Migration Partnership Facility (MPF) at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and contributed as senior expert to the European Migration Network (EMN) at ICF International. He was seconded to the European Commission (DG HOME) as national expert on integration policies.
In early 2024, he was selected by the EU Bubble Insider as one of the key people to follow on migration and human rights. He has also relevant experience in consulting EU and UN specialized agencies and national decentralized bodies on migration policies. Italian national, he’s based in Stockholm (Sweden).
Dr. Costis Prouskas is a Psychologist with a Master’s degree (MSc) in Psychological Assessment in Organisations (Goldsmiths, London) and a doctorate (PhD) in Gerontology (King’s College London).
Dr. Prouskas has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aktios Elderly Care since its foundation in 2007 while from April 2023 he serves as Human Resources Manager in Alzheimer Athens. Currently, he also serves as the Chief Clinical Officer of Blocks Group.
He is the Scientific Director of the Dementia Day Centre of “Frontizo” NGO in Patras and External Supervisor of the Day Centres, Mobile Units and “Care-at-home” program of the Athens Alzheimer Association for people with dementia. Since April 2024, he has taken the External Supervisor role at the two Day Care Centers for Dementia run by the “ITHAKI” Association in Cyprus. Dr. Prouskas also lectures on courses related to Gerontology, Long-Term Care, and Health Psychology at public and private Higher Education Institutions across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.
He has worked for many years in Elderly Care Units and served for 5 years as the Scientific Director of 3 Psychosocial Rehabilitation Units of the Non-profit Organization “KLIMAKA” in Corfu and Patras with full responsibility for staffing, organization and operation. He also served as the CEO of Filoktitis Rehabilitation Centre from September 2021 to October 2022.
He has also worked on several European research projects and has served as an expert for Older Women in the Program “PROGRESS for disadvantaged groups” of the Hellenic General Secretariat for Gender Equality. He has also been a member of the Working Group for the reform of the institutional framework for the provision of social protection and social welfare for elderly people of the Greek Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Social Solidarity. Since 2024, he is also a member of the Working Group for the development of the new National Action Plan for the management of Dementia-Alzheimer’s Disease at the Greek Ministry of Health.
He is the Secretary General of the Greek Care Homes Association (PEMFI), the Secretary of the Hellenic Gerontological and Geriatric Society and a Founding Member of the Athens Alzheimer Association and of 50plus Hellas.
Tine Rostgaard is Professsor in social studies at the Department of Social Science and Business, Roskilde University, Denmark. She also holds a position as Professor at the Department of Social Work, Stockholm University, Sweden.
She has a Ph.D. in comparative welfare analysis and specializes in analysis of care policies and practices in parental leave, child care and long-term care. Tine works with qualitative as well as quantitative methods in her research.

Femada Shamam is the Chief Executive Officer at The Association for the Aged (TAFTA). With a background in social work and management, she brings a balanced approach to designing and implementing services and products that support the dignity and growth of older people. With 25 years of experience in the aging sector, she has engaged in direct service delivery, policy development, community development, strategic planning, and research.
Driven by her passion for learning and reimagining ageing, Femada actively seeks opportunities to challenge assumptions and contribute to knowledge generation. She is currently pursuing post graduate studies on Ageing. Together with the formal education route, she engages in dialogues with older people and other care partners to advance understanding in the field.
She serves as the vice chairperson of the Commonwealth Association for the Ageing and the Global Ageing Network, advocating for older persons’ rights and inclusion at both national and international levels.
Femada’s passion lies in supporting the journey of emerging leaders in the aged care sector. She believes that wise leadership is critical in addressing the evolving needs of older persons within longevity dynamics. She explores and pursues opportunities for research-based practice, ensuring frontline practitioners contribute to knowledge generation.
On a local level, as part of the KwaZulu Natal NPO Network, Femada leads lobbying and advocacy efforts to ensure civil society organizations are present at the table, ensuring social justice for all. Katie Smith Sloan is the executive director of the Global Ageing Network, an organization with a presence in over 50 countries committed to improving the quality of life for people as they age. She also serves as president and CEO of LeadingAge, a U.S. based organization representing 6,000 providers of ageing services.
She has led the Global Ageing Network for over ten years. The Network, formerly known as the International Association of Homes and Services for the Ageing (IAHSA), is an international community of leaders in ageing services, housing, workforce, research, technology and design.
Sloan serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation, HelpAge USA, and the Long Term Quality Alliance (LTQA). She is also co-chair of Dementia Friendly America, a multi-sector collaborative with a mission to foster dementia friendly communities.

Gregor Tomschizek has been working in social management for more than 30 years. Alongside his work, he completed the University of Applied Sciences for Business Consultancy Professions at the Wiener Neustadt University of Applied Sciences.
He has been managing director of the non-profit organisation VOLKSHILFE NIEDERÖSTERREICH and its non-profit operating company SERVICE MENSCH GmbH since 2003. With around 1,700 employees, the company provides services in the fields of mobile home nursing care, childcare, labour market projects and refugee homes.
Gregor Tomschizek is a member of the board of “SOZIALWIRTSCHAFT ÖSTERREICH”, Austria’s largest association of social employers. He is a founding member of the FEDERATION OF EUROPEAN SOCIAL EMPLOYERS and has served as its president since it was founded in 2017. Since 2023, he has co-chaired the employers’ side of the newly founded European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Social Services in Europe.
Deanie Van Tuijl is a dynamic healthcare entrepreneur and director based in the Netherlands. As Director of Foundation DemenTalent in Amsterdam, she has led the national expansion of the DemenTalent program, focusing on empowering individuals with dementia and reshaping attitudes towards aging. Deanie also owns Avalon Health Consultancy, offering strategic guidance to healthcare startups and organizations, specializing in vision development, business planning, and operational optimization. Her expertise has contributed to the establishment and management of nursing homes, clinics, and key projects like Dementalent across multiple municipalities. With a Master’s in Management, Policy Analysis, and Entrepreneurship in Health and Life Sciences (MPA) from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Deanie embodies innovative leadership in healthcare.
Eva Vaiouli is the Head of Development of the International Department of AKMI and Metropolitan Group of Companies, with an extensive experience in Project Management, Partnership Building, and Grants Writing in the field of EU Projects, where she works for the last 5 years.
Eva holds a MSc in European Policies in Education, Research and Training, while her Bachelor Degree was in International and European Studies. Her academic interests focus on Humanitarian Law, Children Rights and Social Care, since she has also been a volunteer for the Greek Red Cross, since 2018. She speaks Greek (native), English (C2) and French (C1).
As it concerns the field of Long Term Care, with a particular focus on Elderly Caregiving, Eva has been the Project Coordinator of 2 key-projects in EU level: “Eldicare: Matching skills in a growing European Silver Economy”, under Erasmus+ Sector Skills Alliances, implemented within 2018-2021, and “Eldicare 2.0: Re-defining skills in a post-COVID European Silver Economy”, under Erasmus+ Blueprint, currently implementing until July 2027, as well as a key speaker in the European Conference “THE EUROPEAN SILVER ECONOMY IN 2021: the case of Eldicare” took place in March 2021.
Athina Vassilaki, M.A.Ed, is a seasoned educator, trainer, and hospitality expert with a rich international background. She specializes in adult education, professional training, instructional design, and operations management. Currently, she is the Programme Leader for both MSc and BA in International Hospitality, Events, and Tourism Management at Metropolitan College, collaborating with Oxford Brookes and Queen Margaret Universities. Additionally, she serves as a Training Specialist at Welcome Global, delivering seminars in Spa Management and Essentials, helping professionals excel in the wellness and hospitality industries.
Theodora Vasilopoulou is an Academic Program Leader in the BSc Physiotherapy UEL (International) program at Metropolitan College, Larissa Campus, involved in research and teaching endeavors (since 2019). Her academic journey commenced with a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from Alexander Technological Educational Institute, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science, a Master’s degree in ‘Exercise and Health’ from the University of Thessaly, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Thessaly.
She has also worked as a Scientific Associate for MSc Ergonomics and the Lifelong Learning School at the University of Thessaly, focusing on workplace wellness programs and ergonomics. Her research contributions encompass various aspects of health promotion and exercise interventions, with publications in reputable journals and presentations at international conferences. Finally, she is the owner of a private physiotherapy praxis in the city of Volos, with almost two decades of experience dealing with musculoskeletal and oncological patients.
Judith Wunderlich-Antoniou is the General Director and President of the Non-governmental Organisation “ELIX” based in Athens, Greece. She has more than 20 years of experience in programme development, management and evaluation and an extensive experience in volunteer management and coordination of national and international projects for volunteers of all ages. Judith holds a Diploma in Social Pedagogy and Trauma Counselling.
Lilly Zournatzi is currently the General Manager at Hospitality General Clinic, where she oversees daily operations, leads a diverse team, and implements strategic initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic profitability.
Since 2016, she has been actively involved in the healthcare sector, holding various managerial roles in private clinics, focusing on improving operational workflows, patient satisfaction, and team performance.
Before her involvement in healthcare, she gained over a decade of experience in administrative management, serving as an Administrative Executive at Greece’s first sports website, Sport.gr. Her extensive background in both healthcare and online media equips her with a unique skill set that includes team leadership, strategic planning, and digital proficiency.
Lilly Zournatzi holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management, and has certifications in Human Resources Management.
